Once we are let down, we are presented with an opportunity to find ourselves. Look up to someone for too long and we begin to lose sight of our own spark – eclipsed by the shadow of our own choosing.
The thing about being disappointed is not so much about the blow of the disappointment, but more about the maelstrom of emotions from the blame that ensues.
Refuse to be swept away. Don’t play the victim.
Falling asleep at the helm of how we want to live our life, that will be on us.
Be bent. But never broken.
Be humbled. But never walked over.
Time to wake up.
The beauty is that through disappointment you can gain clarity, and with clarity comes conviction and true originality.
