E=mc2 is as famous as Albert Einstein himself. If you’re not familiar with it, know that:
- E = energy
- m = mass
- c = speed of light
E=mc2 is therefore stating that energy is equal to mass times the speed of light squared or speed of light multiplied to itself. Any object you can think of is basically potential energy that is just awaiting the right conditions.
Figuratively Speaking
I’m no Physicist (surprise!). But I do love playing with words, as well as good analogies and metaphors. With that, let’s play with Einstein’s equation and apply it to energy that we like to use for ourselves. Energy to do stuff, get things done, and achieve our dreams.
With Physics 101 we know that mass is that intrinsic and most basic property of an object, the amount of matter it has. That sounds like the equivalent of our being, don’t you think? Our being is inherent, it never changes regardless of our own awareness of it.
Being, alone, is not enough. So we search for energy sources outside ourselves. We go from one inspiration to the next. One motivation to the next. Fad after fad, we keep searching, deplete and recharge. On and on that cycle goes.
But as Einstein postulates, mass is energy given the right conditions. Being is energy given the right conditions. Now let’s multiply our being with our inner light magnified. A conscious effort to connect to that often untapped light that we all share.
Imagine all that energy you’ve had within all along. What does that look like for you? The constant conversion between being and energy that never dies out; for it is all confined within you. What can that empower you to do and achieve, to influence and create?
I like to experience the universe as one harmonious whole. Every cell has life. Matter, too, has life; it is energy solidified. Our bodies are like prisons, and I look forward to be free, but I don’t speculate on what will happen to me. I live here now, and my responsibility is in this world now.
