The Original Recipe

Wisdom in everyday things – driving with a GPS system:

Setting our destination is like setting our goal.

Driving is our action to move towards it.

Following our GPS is us utilizing our best tools to get there.

Action and tool utilization alone are not enough for success; as our understanding, skills, distractions, and roadblocks in life influence our journey.

Yet when we do miss a turn or forced by life to take another route, we don’t hear a chiding system “You messed up!”. Rather we hear, without a tone of panic, a very reassuring word “Recalculating”.

Continued motion and not losing our set destination gives us a great opportunity to adjust and adopt new iterations. It may take some time than originally planned but we will get there none the less.

Set a goal.
Keep moving.
Recalculate as needed.

My first original content towards the end of 2022

Like many, COVID 19 really got me thinking about a lot of things. It was a period of introspecting and I decided to really expand my mind. I opened up to ideologies. I was voracious and started to consume others’ stories, tips, and tricks for success. I became more active on LinkedIn and started following people and reading about what they have to say. A lot of posts about success, trials, how to do this and that. I was a lurker and observed a lot.

From scrolling and dishing out support, like, and love emojis grew the urge to drop comments. Random things here and there. Trying my best to stay away from thoughtless quips that does not do anyone any good (as if my emojis were any different…)

And then the desire of posting my own content grew within. It was nerve wracking. And then the voices started coming.

  • Who do you think you are?
  • What could you possibly say?
  • You know that’s not who you are.

Tested the waters with reposts of articles with my own take, like what I had to add would matter. Pics of how my day went like anyone would care (taking my COVID shot… seriously?) What was I trying to do?

Then one day, out of a proud parent moment, I posted our youngest daughter’s spelling work as she scored a whopping 101. “Who needs a 401K when I have a 101K (K for kid).” And that was it. I would never be the same.

  • Doing for the sake of doing vs doing something out of love.
  • What am I passionate about?
  • What I think I should do vs what I want to do?
  • Why?

My own original recipe was born.

Whether others find it good or bad is insignificant, as such subjective preference cannot limit the inherent qualities of what I do and how I do it.

It is mine. It gives me joy. It’s done with love.
